Rictor Noren - Violin, Viola, Chamber Music
Rictor Noren has performed in recital in the United States, Europe and Japan including the Evian Festival with cellist, Mistaslov Rostropovich; the Token Creek Festival where he premiered works for viola by composer, John Harbison; and at the University of Sapporo, Japan.
His orchestral engagements include the Boston Ballet, the Milwaukee Symphony, the American Sinfonietta, Bellingham Festival Orchestra, principal violist and soloist with the Naples Philharmonic, acting principal violist with the Colorado Music Festival Orchestra, and the New York String Orchestra.
Mr. Noren is currently on faculty at The Boston Conservatory, The New England Conservatory Preparatory division, and teaches as an adjunct at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Harvard University. He has also taught at the Longy School of Music, and Rocky Ridge Music Center.
Mr. Noren is currently working on several transcriptions of romantic Russian music for the viola with One World Strings Publications, in addition to his previously published transcriptions of the works of Gliere.
